Question - How Many prints can I print from a set of edible ink cartridge?
Answer - No two images are the same which makes this a difficult question to answer. The colours used in printing an image is dependant on the image itself. If the image shows a lot of sky, more cyan ink will be used to print the blue. If the image shows a lot of grass, more yellow and cyan will be used to print green.
Bearing this in mind we use the cartridges ink capacities and base our estimate on equal usage of the colours to estimate 40 of A4 prints per set of cartridges, excluding the large black cartridge. Using this as a guide, the bundle offered in this listing will print an estimated 160 of A4 images.
Question - Why are there 2 Black cartridges in the cartridge set?
Answer - The cartridge set is a Hybrid set and which black cartridge is used is dependant on the selection of "Paper Type" in the printer properties selections per print. If no settings are made or if "plain paper" or certain other paper settings are selected in the printer properties, the printer will print from the large black cartridge because it assumes printing is notes, letters or envelopes for example. If the "Paper Type" selected is other than plain or envelope the printer will print from the small black cartridge.
Question: If the printer is only used for edible image designs what happens to the ink in the large black cartridge or the print head?
Answer - This is the biggest problem that HobbyPrint® comes across with how edible printers are used. The ink in the large black printhead will dry and block through lack of ink passing through it. HobbyPrint® advises users to use a printer with edible ink to print letters, children's homework and other standard printer uses. If this can not be done, print a nozzle test print on a weekly or bi weekly basis.
Question - What is a pre-cut icing sheet, why and how are they used?
Answer - These are A4 icing sheets that have been cut to size during production and these sheets require no cutting. Print and then peel off the various pre-cut shapes, circles, squares, hearts & rectangles in different sizes.
